Creative Mini Advent Calender

I saw on Gem Fatales blog a very cute Christmas mini advent calender DIY as one of her Tuesday Tips. You can check out how to make one in her post as I basically copied everything. She took inspiration from another post involving chewing gums instead of vitamins, but I couldn't find any to work :( I made this for my boyfriend who loves chewing gums, but! He eats really unhealthy, and I like this cute way of looking after him during winter with the vitamins ^_^

You start off with a pack like these, I'd already cut it in half by this point, since you cut off the extra vitamins, you only need 24, and then the box needs to be smaller. I love the chewy vitamins over the hard disgusting tasting ones any day! I'm a vegetarian so I take iron vitamins and some types taste horrible, bleh. Also sorry for the flash in the photos, it's dark and the lightings not very good.

As you can see, sort of, you then number the side you pop the vitamins out. I did them randomly with Sharpie Pens, but 1-12 on one pack, and 13-24 on the other pack. I cut the bottom row off each pack, and rounded the corners. The extra vitamins are now for me, which is good since I have a horrible cold atm :(

I copied Gem, and bought some stars to use as well, they are so pretty, and less than a £1 in Tesco! and drew terrible drawings of Christmas trees, stockings, presents and baubles.

The end result! I really love brown wrapping paper, and buy it whenever I see it, so I already had this on hand, used some sticky stars and cut out Rudolph from a Christmas card. I am making cards for Christmas, but, I bought some cards for people in work since there's about 40 people there. I wrote a little note on the back, and stuck stars over the back and sides too. I might have gone a bit overboard with the stars, but they're so pretty! I hope the boy likes them, but I also bought a chocolate advent calender for him too. However he's already won the advent calender gift giving as he bought me a lego advent calender with a lego toy every day instead of chocolate, he is awesome! ^_^

P.S ONE MONTH TILL CHRISTMAS!

Penguin Owl Howl Thing

I think I need more practice.... he was meant to be an owl, but I choose penguin colours, and he's a bit lopsided, and I was too tired to finish the beak (which I did by hand, can't you tell? As well as his tummy). Note to self, don't attempt to make things at 1am! But I am glad I finally got out my sewing machine. I set it up downstairs as there is no room in my room! That's why I've been putting off sewing. My brothers will just have to get over the fact that their games room is now my sewing room (used to be a dining room - only on Christmas now!). But I know where to improve now, like using a template for one!, and hope to have a few of these by Christmas, but of better quality, and more stuffing. I'm going to call him Howl, geddit? It has "Owl" in it!

What I wore #7

It's been awhile since I've done a "What I wore" post, so I thought why not? I really liked my outfit I wore the other night so decided to illustrate that. Not well I might add, I have the chunkiest legs, and a giraffe neck in that doode! Anyway I've been wearing my work uniform practically every day and that's too boring to draw! My hairs not really that long but it feels like it sometimes, I'm half debating to chop it all off like I usually do to my shoulders but I'm going to actually try styling it at some point since it's really long for me.

So, I've survived the first three shifts of Breaking Dawn Hell! It's not been that bad, but my legs are aching so much and I've gathered a few new scars on my arms and hands because I just attract those kind of injuries! My dreams of being a hand model are over :P I had a day shift today instead of a day/night shift so I've actually had time to do stuff except for eat and sleep, and draw that little post. Sorry for the blurryness of the photo, but it was the best of a bunch. I'm watching Twilight while I surf the net, terrible I know but I have this urge to watch them all again and its just on in the background anyway. Then it'll be food, shower, bed and back in for work tomorrow morning. My life is just that exciting!

Christmas craft fair goodies

On Saturday, after work, my boyfriend told me there was a local craft fair going on in town, so naturally I went straight there! I'd planned on going Christmas Shopping anyway, since I had a short shift in work, I'd counted it as a "day off" (Currently on day 6 of working, and I had one day off between rotas, closing tonight, but I have two days off yaaay!). I can't remember how much I spent, but I spent loads! I had to borrow money off the boy, and repay him later of course, but I wanted everything! Instead I limited myself to mainly getting things for my mum. I'll be getting her other things too, but I've got most of the little things already :D

I bought her three candles. She loves getting scented candles for Christmas, and I went a bit overboard, but they are so pretty and vintage. Well, that's what the woman told me anyway. I love the tea cup candle, I've been wanting to make some for ages, and I love the pattern on it. The top right one I love the colour of the class and it looks quite retro to me, then again I probably don't know what I'm talking about :P The one in the middle isn't vintage of course, but it smells like strawberry's, I want to eat it!

I might keep this for myself! No, no, I can't, but it's so pretty, it smells nice, and look at the pretty tags!

I bought all these for myself, I just can't help it! I love beads, its a new hobby of mine. I wrote a post before about the bracelets I've made, and haven't really done anything since then, except buy more beads. However I am going to make little bracelets for some friends, so it can count as a Christmas present too.

I bought these sweets, from a guy I happen to know, mainly for the bucket. I've already said in the past how I buy things just for the tins or containers they are in. The bead shop I go to has these everywhere, but they're not for sale, they're shopping baskets, how sweet. There are sweets in there too, rhubarb custard sweets, which I do like, and will probably share, maybe :P (Sorry for the poor quality of the last two pictures, I couldn't seem to get a decent one of them, too shiny?)

And last but not least, a vinatge Christmas decoration. The woman said her sister picked up all the pieces in Spain, and she added some old ribbon she had onto them. My mum likes Christmas tree decorations so I hope she likes this one. I should have taken photos of all the stalls, but I was a bit too self conscious to do that, plus oohing and aahing over many of the items, but this woman had amazing decorations and candle holders. This was the first year that this Christmas craft fair had been held, and I hope they come back, so I can buy lots, or who knows, even maybe sell things! Just need to get crafting!

Models Own

L-R: Emerald Black, Aqua Violet, Purple Blue, Pinky Brown and Golden Green.

When I saw the Models Own Beetlejuice nail varnish collection, I just knew I had to have it! I even started to try really hard to grow my nails a bit (Sadly, I'm a nail biter, usually when I'm watching things). They're still short, long for me, but no photos just yet :P Anyway! I wanted to get them all, Models Own was sold out of Pinky Brown, but Asos wasn't. I bought two of the Beetlejuice collection and one other on the Models Own website, to save the £3 and get another pretty colour, bought my first nail art pen and got a free eyeliner since it was my first online purchase (I've only bought two of their nail varnishes before from Boots). On Asos, they were selling three of the Beetlejuice collection together for £10 (I think) so I bought them all in a roundabout way. However they didn't all arrive on the same day, the package from Asos was too big to get through my door and no one was home so I had to go pick it on, on my next day off which wasn't really a day off (currently stuck in a six day week, with one day off between weeks >.<!). This is the size of the package.

Hmm, I should have had a something next to it to show the scale, but the box can fit my laptop in it! My laptop is a giant beast of a thing! Anyway, this was a box they sent for three nail varnishes! Three! In that box was a smaller box, see below.

And in that very long box, there were these three nail varnishes.

Golden Green, Purple Blue and Pinky Brown.

Those three little things, came in a box that was too big to get through my post box, whilst the actual package from Models Own, which I had more things from, managed to fit! This is what I got.

Emerald Black, Aqua Violet and Pink Fuzz.

I don't have a picture of the packaging these came in, but it was tiny, and everything seemed to fit okay, except the nail art pen box was a bit damaged. I found the Asos packaging a bit ridiculous, but wouldn't have minded to much if I didn't have to drive around looking for the post office centre to go pick it up, I got a bit lost, and had to go to work afterwards. I can't wait to try them out properly, I have to wait for a few days off since I can't wear nail varnish in work, and think they might notice the Beetlejuice colours more than nudes which I've been secretly wearing! Looks like Pinky Brown and Aqua Violet are my favourites, and I have to send off the nail art pen to get a new one since the nib was broken and the line thing was all bent, sucks. So now I have another trip to the post office, but at least this ones more local, but! I have to wait till Tuesday, which is still within the seven days, luckily! It better all be worth it in the end :D

P.s! Hope everyone tried filming for Britain in a Day! I did, not that great, but will be uploading it tomorrow or Monday. Even if I don't get my footage used, which is highly likely, I'm still excited for the actual documentary, I guess I'm very nosey :P

Remember them

I used to be part of the Air Training Corps Cadets, and used to sell the poppy's and do quite a few parades a few years ago. Now,  every year I buy a poppy or two and proudly wear them, it's not much but its something. I don't agree with war, but, I remember those who have fought and died, in the past, present, and who will in the future.

Britain in a Day

Did anyone watch a film called Life in a Day? It was in the cinema a few months ago, and most recently on BBC 2, which you can still watch online here, last day to see it there though sorry. If you haven't watched it, you should! I went to see it in the cinema, and watched about an hour of it when it was on TV, I would have watched more but missed the start and had to leave before it finished. It's amazing. Basically, it shows little snippets of peoples lives across the world, all on the same day, the 24th of July 2010. It is so interesting, and I remembered quite a lot of it when I re-watched some of it, asking my brother if certain people had come up yet. I remember thinking when it came out that I wished I had participated in it too. I'd probably not get any of my footage shown, there was so much footage, but it would be fun!

Now, here's my chance! And yours too if you want to. The BBC are doing a project called Britain in a Day, you can find out about it here. They want people to film their lives on the 12th of November and send it in to their youtube channel here. I'm really excited about this, have no clue what I'm going to, will try to rope in my boyfriend, and am glad I'm only working a short shift on Saturday, maybe I could film there too? I know it's not much notice, but I only just saw it on the TV now, and ran upstairs to check it out!

If you're still not sure, watch this video :D

MIA

Well, I've failed NaBloPoMo, since I haven't written every day this month, oh well, I can always do it next year! I've been MIA about it since I've been working lots, and staying over my boyfriends who lives closer to my work. I haven't taken my laptop, and don't like hogging his, and I have written posts whilst there but prefer my own laptop and time, otherwise they end up like this, just a few short paragraphs.

I've also been writing a bit for nanowrimo, got 10,000 words under my belt now! Still actually behind, should be on about 15,000 but I can do it damnit! I am redoing a story I've tried doing for the past three years, but never seem to have the time, but its something I really want to finish. I'd like to write about that here another time, since I'm in a rush for, guess what? Work!

Really am the biggest kltuz

I hurt my hand in work today... I somehow managed to punch my right hand against something whilst I was serving a customer. I'm right handed, I tried not to show pain as I finished serving, and was about to run away when the customers daughter wanted something.... THEN I ran away and cried like a wimp haha! Everyone was like "What have you done now?" and told me I did deserve to win that award the other night lol. It's okayish now, I put ice on it and carried on, but I have a cut in between my my last two fingers, it's a bit swollen and a bruise on my little finger. Gotta keep adding scars to that hand damnit, good thing I never wanted to be a hand model! On a side note, on Halloween, I managed to gain a scar on my arm because of my dress! I don't even remember half the stuff I do accident wise, but maybe I should keep a count or live in a bubble?

Lame post, but I'm behind on doing a post for every day, so I'm cheating and going to post this for a few days ago, and post one for today tomorrow... this would be the fifth one I think, meh I'm working loads and tired! Shush :P

Nanowrimo!

Nanowrimo  is National Novel Writing Month, which is during November every year. The aim of it is to promote people to write, write, write! They say aim to write about 1667 or something words a day and don't look back or edit until you're done. It's a really good way to write and I've done it for the past few years. My first year was when I was in college and I half won. I got to the goal of 50,000 words, but hadn't finished my story. I'd found out about it on the third day and just started writing, I had no plot. About half way through I started to write a plot, and I cheated a lot by having the main character remember past scenes a lot, so I didn't really win.

Over the past few years I just haven't had the time to devote myself to writing every single day, I still haven't started yet. I've actually planned stories each year, so I may revisit one of them or use a dream I had last night, involving zombies (I've been watching a lot of The Walking Dead lately) so who knows, I for sure one don't! I won't be able to start today either, I'm meeting my friends, then the boy, then work, but I actually have tomorrow off yay! Writing and fireworks!

Anyway, if you like writing, or never have and want to give it ago, Nanowrimo is a really good thing to try out! It has a great support system on the forums, pep emails sent out and people to have word wars with! Some people have even had their novels published from doing this! Over the years I see more and more people mention on facebook they're doing it, which surprises and excites me, yay! If you do join and want to add me as a friend I'm frazzledazzle (it's a veeery old username haha). Hopefully the next time I write about this topic, I'll have at least some words under my belt!

P.s This is also my fourth post for NaBloPoMo but I'm not really linking up to that, just trying to write a blog post every day :D

Recent Haul

Well I've been meaning to post things I've bought since I started this blog, but never really get round to it. So I thought I'd post a bit of what I've bought in the past week, plus some presents I've had :) It's cheered me up, but I still feel angry/sad at the thing I can't change, but I can't do anything about it so I need to try and get over it, or vent a lot to my friends. Haven't done that yet but I'm having a girly chat up with my uni friends tomorrow so yay. So onto some pictures then yes?

Had to use flash since without flash I couldn't get a non blurry photo. Feels good to use my camera again. I've been using my boyfriends iPhone lately and its okay, but I can't edit the photos when I use his laptop. I should just take my laptop down there, which is why I bought that red bag above. It's from Primark and I love it! I bought it to be like a laptop bag, but, alas, my laptop is too big! I can fit it in but not shut the clasps, but for short journeys to the car that may be okay? The little bag is a present from my Nana for no reason, so sweet of her :D The cards I got for free from work, their from Ben & Jerry's, I love free stuff! My boyfriend got me a card and some chocolates from Thorntons <3 He does stuff like that every now and then, I'm quite lucky with him. Last but not least in that picture is the tin box that looks like a retro radio. Here's a close up of it below.

It's a chocolate box which I bought solely so I could have the tin! It's so cute, I love collecting tins and boxes to keep things in, it even looks like a radio on the back and the top, I love little details like that. Its from Sainsburys if anyone's interested in getting it for like £5 or £6 I can't remember. I'm going to keep nail varnishes or makeup in there or something like that. Currently my nail varnishes are in a little bucket.

I bought clothes! Since it's getting colder I need warmer things, like this cute little moustached bunny from River Island £20 and these coloured jeans from New Look £16.99. I need a decent pair of jeans since its too cold to just wear jeggings or tights sometimes, and I've wanted coloured jeans for awhile. I'd say these are teal coloured, which isn't too crazy for my first coloured jeans foray. I've also been lusting after that beaded top from New Look for awhile too and finally bought it. Oh yeah I had a discount voucher for 20% and to top was originally about £22. I'm planning on wearing it over a black body con dress for any Christmas parties I might go to.

I am in love with this playsuit and dress from Dorothy Perkins. I've never had a playsuit, and bought this on sale for £18, it feels very 80's when I wear it so I might add sparkly tights to it when I wear it out. The dress I used the 25% VIP code that had been running all week (last day is tomorrow I think?) and it was originally  £24. I have the same dress in the dusty rose colour, and have been wanting it in emerald for ages! Both of these things I can't wait to wear out over Christmas. It'll be my luck to not go out at all now! Since my holidays (I think I had alcohol poisoning) I haven't really wanted to drink that much, and when I have gone out its been a low key affair or with people who I know will look after me, aka my boyfriend. Anyway! I've started to want to go out again, and dress up with heels and all that jazz, so there'd better be things on, but there usually are.

So those are a few things that I've had and have cheered me up. I love getting new clothes, but I really have no where to put them *sigh*. I'm in the process of cleaning my room at the moment but procrastinating by writing this entry instead! But its the third day of NaBloPoMo! So I'd better write this before the days over. I haven't actually joined the site I linked to a few posts ago, so I'm just doing this as a personal challenge. About Nanowrimo I still haven't started yet, but I traditionally start that really late anyway. Hmm maybe thats why I haven't won properly yet, ooops.

I won!

It was my staff awards to yesterday night and the second one I've been too. Last year we had a school disco party in a club, but we're not allowed to have alcoholic events anymore do to complaints, under 18 staff and the fact that there's always drama. (There was drama anyway, since people went drinking afterwards).

Anyway! I helped sort out the awards, I got those cute little trophies (sorry for the picture quality, it's off my bf's phone), and stuck labels on them, and people voted me for the "Biggest Clumsy Fool"! Yay! I was going for that one :D I didn't win anything last year, and half put that category in to see if I'd win lol, I am always injuring myself. I did on Halloween, by cutting my arm on my dress of all things, not whilst pumpkin carving haha (my boyfriend was actually really worried about me carving the thing!).

It was lots of fun, despite working before hand, and the stress of trying to sort out the awards and certificates before meeting everyone.  Bowling wise, I am atrocious though! But I did get better in the end though, but we had the sides up :P

P.s This is also the second post for NaBloPoMo out of thirty days.

All Hallows Eve

Hope everyone had a fun Halloween! I went over my boyfriends brother's house, it was fun! I went as a witch. I had a velvet dress, sparkly tights, a cloak, hat and a broom. I couldn't drink though since I was driving and working today, but I still felt hungover and tired, not fair. Anyway here are a few pictures.

There was pumpkin carving. It was my first time carving one ever! I can now cross that off my day zero list.

My boyfriends pumpkins on the left, and mines on the right.  Not too bad if I say so myself, but remember it was my first attempt! I'll try doing one each year :)

There were vodka jelly shots, which were gross! We played a weird version of snap, and I was going to drink just one to try since I was driving, but couldn't even handle half of one!

There was even apple bobbing! And would you believe I've never done that before either? The water was icy cold, and the water was murky by the time it was my go (because of everyones face paints) but I got it damn it! A very proud moment haha! All in all, it was a very fun Halloween, and I can't wait for next year!

P.s! I'm going to try to blog every day for the month of November for Nablopomo (National Blog Posting Month) aswell as participate in Nanowrimo (National Writing Month). It'll be my fourth year Nanowrimoing, and my first year Nanoblomoing, should be fun! I have no clue what to do for either but will do a post on both sometime when I have more time, off to my staff awards party, so no time to write tonight, oops.
