Link Love #2

This weeks Link Love is mostly about little things I've found which I thought were cool or interesting, things I want to try out for myself. All the pictures link back to the source, I'm not sure if I've mentioned that in the past Link Love post. I like making these posts since I tend to keep every window open of things I like for a long, long time! (Which leads to bad laptop habits! Oops) Or I save everything under my bookmarks bar which is crazy, I attempted to organise it a few months back whilst procrastinating from doing uni work and it didn't really work out! Anyway onto the inspiration!

These paper flowers are pretty darn cool. They're made from post it notes and the instructions look simple enough to do so I want to give this a go! As soon as I find my post it notes!

Since I've failed with one of my resolutions about to-do lists, I saw this (from the wall street journal, I was just googling lists, yes I know I'm sad) and thought it was very interesting, and its also a list of seven things! I haven't attempted anymore lists since I know right now I'll just fail them all, so hopefully following most or all of this advice will work for me.

Galadarlings list of 100 things to do when you're upset. The photo links to the post, but is taken from her most recent outfit post which you should also go check out. Oh and check out the rest of her blog while you're at it, very inspiring.

A very good list of things to do to improve your blog. I've done some but not all and I think its a good idea to check out whether you've been blogging for a week or five years.

How cute is that illustration? Well, click on it to type out sentences using llama font, where you'll find really cute llamas making letters with their bodies, its kinda adorable *squee* And thats it for this week's inspiration post!

Weekly to-do list

Well following my resolutions post, here is a list of seven things I have to do by or before the 7th of January.

Book a Hair appointment
Book a Doctors appointment
Book a Dentist appointment
Throw away old underwear, socks, etc that are worn out
Watch Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Swap a bag I bought for a different colour (Went but they didn't have the colour)
Go for coffee/hot chocolate with the girls

As you can see, I've put off booking appointments since I hate doing it and hate going. I got loads of new underwear for Christmas so to make room for it I need to get rid of the old horrible stuff and then some fun things. Now I'm off to work!

UPDATE: Well... I failed at that! It didn't help that I started this half way through the week where I spent most of it away from home, so I'll have to add them onto this weeks list which I'll post another time, but I know its a work in progress.

Another to do list

I always seem to make lists, and then forget about them, and then make more. I love making lists, but wish I crossed more off them. So I'm going to quickly make myself a new list, and see how much I can cross off before the deadline I set myself.

These are things I've been meaning to do for awhile, and I intend to cross them off by next week, so Wednesday the 5th of October.

  • Finish my CV and make sure I get references.
  • Tidy my room, it is a pigsty and I have too much stuff for my little room!
  • Draw what I wear every day like Ellamasters for at least one week.
  • Start the 30 day shred again.
  • Cross off one thing from my day zero list.
Just five things, I could add loads more, but then nothing would ever get done!

Plans

Wow, it's been awhile. I've only written two posts on this when I had hoped by this time I would have done a few. I've been on two holidays since, one in Kavos, Greece, and the other in Aberdeen, Scotland. Both very different and I'm glad to be back home. Well, I've been half down my boyfriends new house which is closer to work and he doesn't have internet yet, so I've not really been that active online anyways.

This isn't really much of a post, but something to get me going again. More of a creative to-do list, of things I would like to do. Some are on my day zero list, other's aren't. Summer's almost gone and I've not really done much except for working and holidaying, but then I'm not going back to Uni and I don't have a full time job yet so maybe summer won't be over for me yet/ Besides we haven't had summer weather. Anyways, here's the to do list.

  • Paint canvasses (I have a few, including cute small ones on mini art easels)
  • Create some characters I could maybe use as a brand
  • Think up of a name for an etsy shop/brand/make
  • Finish knitting a gryffindor scarff (started when I was in Aberdeen)
  • Sew some dolls, teddies and cat dolls.
  • Create a visual diary
  • Bake cupcakes and decorate
  • Decorate cards
  • Write a short story
  • Make some bunting (probably the paper kind first, since it's easier.
This isn't a defintie list there's lots more but I'm procrastinating getting ready for work!

Free

I'm finally free from Uni! I had a few problems which meant I couldn't get my dissertation in on time and I was panicking a lot since I was missing 40 credits, so I wasn't entirely sure if I'd pass and graduate, or have to resit and graduate next January! Luckily I have a degree! It's not what I could have had, but I don't want the stress of resitting and its still a degree, woot! :)

Now that uni's over I need to focus on what I'm going to do September onwards. I'm still having a summer for me, but I could work full time in my part time job now, but ideally I'd like to get a job in a School in September and take a part time evening course in college again to get qualified to work with children. It sucks that my degree doesn't actually do that. Anyhow I need to start applying for things, now that I've had a week or two off from uni stuff.

I have plans for the summer, I'm going to try and be creative again and do lots of fun things with my friends and boyfriend and the first step towards that goal is to be organised! I've started off my tackling my room, its a crazy tiny room with 21 years of stuff that I hold onto forever and ever and can't seem to throw away. Yes I'm one of those people, I really need to declutter.

I feel like once I've done my room, maybe redecorate, I'll be ready to face the world and paint and sew and go on trips. Well I could go on trips without the clean room but coming back would be horrible!

So my plan for the Summer is to:
  • Declutter and decorate!
  • Apply for courses and jobs.
  • Be creative.
  • Have fun!
  • Work more = more spending monies!
I'm hoping I'll manage all of these!
